FORT MYERS, Fla. – Senior Kyle Jackson's two-run single in the fifth broke a 4-4 tie and led Coast Guard to a 6-4 win over Merchant Marine as the Bears competed the three-game sweep of their archrivals at the Gene Cusic Classic.

Sophomore Dustin Reeder (1-1) went six innings and allowed just four hits and three earned runs while walking two and striking out seven to pick up the win.

The Bears bullpen was outstanding as junior Joe Siciliano, senior Luke Sniatkowski and freshman Brett Sullivan retired nine straight hitters. Sullivan struck out the side in the ninth to pickup his second save in as many days.

Reeder was touched for three runs, two earned in the bottom of the first before the Bears took the lead with four runs in the third.

In the Coast Guard third, senior Brendan McNeil led off with a double and scored on an RBI single by sophomore Will Stevens. Junior Zach Serna's sacrifice fly would later score Stevens before the Bears scored a pair of runs on a throwing error to take the 4-3 lead.

The Mariners tied the game in the fourth on a suicide squeeze, but left the go ahead run at third.

Coast Guard added two insurance runs in the fifth as Serna reached on an error before Duncan struck out, but reached on a wild pitch before Jackson's two-run single to right closed the scoring.

McNeil and sophomore Jeremy Lhotka each had two hits as the Bears finished with ten hits in the win.

Coast Guard improves to 3-4 overall while Merchant Marine drops to 0-3.

The Bears are back  in action at the Cusic Classic on Wednesday against Anna Maria at noon.
